A growing population. Joint and limited resources. This gives us a clear responsibility to work every day for future generations to contribute to a circular economy and consumption that keeps resources within society's cycle instead of becoming waste.
OUR GREEN FACTORIES
Sustainability lies in Blåkläder’s DNA. Which is why we are particularly proud that our factory in Myanmar has been awarded LEED Platinum status. This is the highest classification in the LEED Green Building Certification for environmentally sustainable buildings. This represents a major success for our present and future sustainability activities.
WE TAKE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
For us at Blåkläder, sustainability is about more than environmental issues. Our social responsibility is what really defines us. Which is why we view secure employment, access to healthcare and long-term support for the communities in which we operate as a matter of course.
WE’RE IN THIS FOR THE LONG RUN
As well as being a prerequisite of all human existence, the sun is an almost endless source of energy that has little environmental impact. With solar panels, water-cooled air conditioning and water-saving measures, we are taking a responsible, long-term approach to garment production and its impact on the environment.
We keep the number of partners in our supply chain to a minimum. We believe that the key to profoundly sustainable work in a supply chain is close relationships with all suppliers. A limited number of carefully selected suppliers is the basis for high transparency in a supply chain. The total Blåkläder supplier base is less than 100 partners. In our industry, it is not unusual for companies to have 5-10 times that many. From our point of view, this is the only right way to do it.
A SUSTAINABLE POSITION
For all of us at Blåkläder sustainability is key, and we believe that it goes hand in hand with good business. If you would like to find out more about our sustainability efforts, I would be happy to answer your questions.
